HONDA DIO

The Honda Dio is targeted at younger consumers made evident by its design language. It gets a tried and tested motor which is known for being efficient. The Dio also offers features like LED-headlamp, tubeless tires, and fully-digital display.
Honda has introduced the new Dio in two variants including standard and deluxe and has given it a host of updates to set it apart from the previous version. To start with, the sporty styling of the scooter has become edgier now with a redesigned headlamp, position lamp and tail lamp along with sharper contours across its bodywork.

It has also been adorned with funkier graphics and a split grab rail at the rear. The new Dio also gets added features such as an ACG silent starter, side stand engine inhibitor, external fuel filler cap, dual-function switch integrating seat and fuel lid opener, front pocket, and a new DC LED headlamp. Interestingly, it also retains the fully-digital instrument cluster with more information such as fuel range, average fuel efficiency, and real-time fuel efficiency.

Now, making it compliant with the new BS6 emissions norms is a reworked 109.19cc engine which now gets Honda’s programmed fuel injection, in place of the previous carbureted set up. Coming to the cycle parts, the 10-inch wheel and trailing-link suspension of the outgoing model have made way for a 12-inch wheel with telescopic forks, similar to the Activa 6G. The rear continues to ride on a 10-inch wheel suspended by a mono-shock. Braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends, assisted by the combined braking system. To give it more stability, Honda has also marginally increased the wheelbase of the Dio.

Reviews of Honda Dio:

  • The buying experience was like buying chocolate, I got my Dio BS-VI bike on 26th Feb, till now it has done 1.2k km, little bit its power is low that's fine for me, you fall in love with the bike, led light is powerful, my glossy grey beauty gives 58 km/l in city condition. I definitely recommend it to all. Thank you honda.
  • This scooter or rather say motorscooter is best in looks in the scooters prevailing. Honda has worked a lot in its design. The performance of engine is smooth and acceleration is fast. But the build quality is below average. Go for it if you want attention on the road. This is class apart from other scooters in India. The engine is the same as on active so you are getting a durable engine and fuel economy. The design can be compared to a sports bike and the unique styling is visible from the fact that it has headlight on the front body rather than handlebar.
